Platform21

Platform21 selects and presents creative developments that make you curious about the future. We aim to create dynamic spaces for a variety of projects and activities that question and give insight into how the world is shaped around us.

The domain of creation is - at least to us - not something professionals have a monopoly on. Amateur initiatives interest us as well. Platform21 functions as an international meeting point, real and virtual, where seemingly disparate groups can inspire and strengthen each other: a network for people curious to explore our new century.

We are located in a temporary home: a beautiful round chapel in the Zuidas district of southern Amsterdam. Here we experiment with different ways of exhibiting design and fashion, showing the process of creation.

In 2010, Platform21 will move to a new 5,000m2 building near our present location. What this building will look like, how it will function, and who is going to design it are questions that have yet to be answered.

In the meantime, we hope to welcome you as a visitor, a contributor or a critic, online and on site.
Solares Fondazione delle Arti

Solares Fondazione delle Arti is engaged in all-round cultural production, blending together theatre, cinema, music and the figurative arts. Solares has deep roots in the area, and works on projects both in Italy and elsewhere in Europe, taking advantage of influential relationships with cultural centres abroad and leading international figures.
Solares Fondazione delle Arti was founded in Parma in 2007 from a merger between Teatro delle Briciole, the most important Italian repertory Theatre for innovative productions for children, and Solares Fondazione Culturale, an international endeavour dedicated to the creation, development and production of events linked to contemporary art in all of its multifaceted guises, as well as being a local promoter of diverse classical music seasons as well as an art film cinema.

This is a cultural enterprise on the European model, with an evident multidisciplinary identity. A cultural production centre whose activities are split between two sites (thus offering more halls; two for theatre and one for cinema, an outdoor cinema arena for the summer, and rehearsal rooms), Solares is mindful of the processes of transformation in society and contemporary art, and strives to keep abreast of new demands, and keen to develop brand new connections between all kinds of artistic languages, while keeping an eye open for anything new.
ADC, EP

Founded in 1983, ADC, EP conceives and organizes national and international cultural events and is in charge of the International Poster and Graphic Design Festival of Chaumont since 2002. It is also required to take the artistic direction and the management of great international events such as the Fête de la Musique (Music Day, on June 21st each year) since 1994.

This Association also plans conferences and surveys devoted to performing arts, audiovisual, new technologies, cultural industries, urbanism and architecture or cultural territorial policies. ADCEP has produced the International Market of the Performing Arts (Marché International des Arts de la Scène) from 1987 to 1990, the Architecture international meeting (Les Rendez-Vous de l’Architecture) from 1997 to 2002, the European Meetings for Culture in Hospital (Les Rencontres Européennes de la Culture à l’Hôpital) in 2001.

The interdisciplinary ADC, EP teams up with a network of professionals recognized in their field, specifically mobilized according to the events, by privileging dialogue, analysis of the context and rigorous methods.
EACEA

The Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA), located in Brussels, is operational since 1st January 2006.
The EACEA operates under supervision of the European Commission and implements a number of strands of more than 15 EU funded programmes and actions in the fields of education and training, active citizenship, youth, audiovisual and culture.
Management and programme administration tasks are concentrated within the Agency, leaving the Commission free to refocus its activities on its policy and institutional tasks.
The programme strands managed by the Agency are all centralised and support technical projects, which do not imply making political decisions.
