Sunday Soup - 24 February

What started as a new way of capturing the power of natural colors in an interesting 2D form - the 100%SAP posters - has grown into an intensive research into the behaviour and color range of ink from vegetables and fruit.
Designers Daniera ter Haar and Christoph Brach aim to develop a new, all-natural Pantone system, experimenting along the way.
Here are some of their latest discoveries:
Mixing ink from different veggies together gives new colors in which they place their color cards. But nature still has its way: as soon as the ink and the card have dried, the two inks have totally seperated agin. Especially red cabbage tends to do this.
When the color cards are ironed, the colors become bright and lively again. The fact that natural ink reacts to heat was new to Daniera and Christoph.
Currently they are testing the effects of adding vinegar to the ink and cooking vegetables before grinding them.

Sunday 24 February, Daniera and Christoph gave a workshop during which participants printed T-shirts with ink from vegetables and fruit.
