GNAM 2008 presenting a comprehensive overview of modern media covering the various aspects of the theme of food and gastronomy.
The theme identified by the acronym GNAM (Gastronomy in Modern Art), a source of great inspiration, has led to further study and research into interesting focus points for reflection on the modernity and contemporaneity of such a wide, complex, and never-ending topic.
The first edition of GNAM 2007 centred mainly around the non-verbal and ritualistic aspect of nourishment and food with all their inherent obsessions.
The second edition of GNAM 2008 proposes multi-disciplinary cultural events which delve more deeply into the theme to stimulate an analysis of the way food and nourishment is portrayed in contemporary society.
In the next edition of GNAM art will become public. The denomination Public Art points out a specific way of presenting and enjoying art, going directly into the city.
Public Art began with modern urban conception distinguishing itself from the other forms of art for its communicative purposes.
GNAM 2008 intends to bring the Art into the city putting it in a very close relationship with the audience, revaluing the civic entourage through site-specific artworks.
